Layla is a direct-to-consumer company that offers mattresses, pillows, bed frames, weighted sheets, and other products through their website and through Amazon. Copper infusions are used in both the Layla Pillow and the Layla Mattress to help in cooling and odour reduction.
The Layla Pillow, also known as the Layla Kapok Pillow, and the Layla Memory Foam Pillow are two of the company’s pillow versions. The Kapok Pillow derives its name from the Kapok or Ceiba tree’s natural fibre filling.
The Layla Kapok Pillow is more comfortable and pricey than the Layla Memory Foam Pillow due to the super silky kapok fibre. Both pillows have shredded memory foam, but the Layla Kapok Pillow is made up of a combination of the foam and Kapok fibres, while the Memory Foam Pillow is made up of a combination of memory foam and polyester.
Any of these pillows may be adjusted as well. Sleepers may open the pillow and add or remove fill if required thanks to a zipper in the cover. As a consequence, Layla pillows are comfortable for a wide range of sleepers. The Layla Kapok and Layla Memory Foam have different initial firmness levels, with the Layla Kapok being medium soft and the Layla Memory Foam being medium firm.
Layla Pillow: The Product Inspection
The Layla Pillow can seem straightforward at first glance, but both the outer cover and the inner fill of this pillow have a lot going on.
Queen: 18.5′′ x 28.5′′; King: 18.5′′ x 36.5′′
the amount of weight
King: 5 lbs; Queen: 4 lbs
Coverage CuTEC Yarn Core Pieces of responsive memory foam and Kapok fibres are spun into a fabric that is 66% polyester, 30% viscose, and 4% poly/lycra (70 percent foam and 30 percent fibers)
For all scales, the loft/height is 5.5′′-6′′.
Measurements
The Layla Pillow is available in Queen and King styles. The Queen dimension is 18.5′′ x 28.5′′ in length and width, while the King is 18.5′′ x 36.5′′ in length and width.” Since it’s flexible, the height of this pillow is very variable, and the foam can contract over time. With all of that stated, the loft is about 5.5′′ -6′′ – unquestionably a tall pillow!
The Layla pillow weights about 4 lbs in Queen size and 5 lbs in King size when completely packed. Of necessity, eliminating the fill to customise the pillow to a person’s own sleeping requirements would allow it lighter in weight.
The pillow cover is a soft-knit mix of 66 percent polyester, 30 percent viscose, and 4 percent poly/lycra spun with CuTEC Yarn in a hexagon pattern in heather grey shades (copper-infused performance fiber). CuTEC Yarn refers to a cover of copper fibres woven into it, equivalent to copper-infused mattresses and/or other pillows that claim to enable a bed draw heat and offer coolness while also improving hygiene.
This pillow’s cover fabric is constructed entirely of polyester and is very comfortable to the touch. Remember the polyester is inherently moisture-wicking, but even though you’re not having the copper’s possible benefits, it’s already doing its job.
So there’s an internal polyester lining that holds the internal fill within the cover cloth. This, in my view, is a significant benefit since it simplifies the washing process. The inner casing is there to secure and hold the stuffing in tact when you wash the cover cloth.
The internal fill is made of torn memory foam, but there’s still some polyester fibre in there, as you may have guessed. Polyester fibre, like Kapok, is commonly used as a down substitute due to its fluffy, lightweight texture. It’s worth noting, though, that polyester isn’t a normal commodity.
The shredded memory foam and polyfiber combine to create a plush yet protective feel that is perfect for back and side sleeping, much like the Kapok pillow. However, I found this one to be a little firmer and lower-lofted, which was ideal for back sleeping for me. I have extracted a small amount of internal fill to render it smoother, but back sleepers who want a firmer feel would probably prefer it as is.
Back Sleeping
The Layla Memory Foam pillow is ideal for sleeping on your back!
Side sleepers would likely like this pillow as well, but I believe the Layla Kapok is the best option for side sleepers. The internal polyester lining of this cushion, on the other hand, is an undeniable plus. This pillow, unlike the Kapok, allows sleepers to strip the cover cloth without needing to remove the padding by the handful.
However, hot sleepers should be aware that this pillow is much colder than the Kapok pillow. While none of them feels nice to the touch, I did notice that this pillow was less breathable. In addition, the cover cloth, in my experience, is less soft and stretchy.
Some Negatives Of The Pillow
Though I appreciate that these pillows’ cover fabrics can be machine washed, it’s essential to remember that the internal fill does not get wet. This ensures you’ll have to take out all of the padding so you can wash the cover materials, which can be a pain.
Stomach Sleeping – The Layla pillows are both very lofty, which makes them unsuitable for stomach sleepers. Of course, you should delete internal fill, but you’ll have to do so in large amounts to get the loft low enough for stomach sleeping.
Very Similar – The distinctions between each Layla pillow are very slight in my opinion. Both are made of torn memory foam and down-alternative, have equal firmnesses, and are suitable for back and side sleepers. I suppose I was expecting Layla’s latest pillow would be a complete departure from the first, but they’re both very identical.
When Buying Layla Pillow – Consider This
Loft is another factor to remember when choosing the correct size. This is the word used to denote the thickness of the pillow, and it has a significant impact on how you can use the product. Shredded memory foam keeps a lot of air in between shreds, allowing you to plump up your pillow significantly. With all of the filling intact, this pillow plumped up perfectly. It was around 9 inches tall on average, and it healed quite well after being pressed against its surface. While it’s convenient to mix up loft with the height of an unfluffed pillow, it can only be used to characterise the pillow when it’s at rest.
When the pillow is unfluffed, the height is what you would anticipate, although you can certainly raise that over a smaller surface region of the pillow. The Layla pillow stands four inches tall, which is about normal. This supports a neutral and relaxed neck posture for back sleepers and is usually a universally welcoming suit. And if this height isn’t right for you, the latest version allows you to quickly adjust the unfluffed height for a firmer or softer feel. This is a vital and outstanding style change that caters to a broader range of customer desires.
Pillow Weight
When it comes to head weight and body weight, things can be a little complicated. If the head is high, it can put more weight on the cushion, inducing sinkage and necessitating the use of a loftier pillow. A heavy body that falls into the mattress, on the other hand, would normally need a thinner pillow due to the increased distance between the mattress and their back.
The same principle holds true for mattress firmness: the plusher the mattress, the further the body falls into it. With too many variables to remember, it can be difficult to evaluate each choice when you shop, which is why I appreciate the Layla pillow’s design. Its high malleability helps you to mould it to your precise specifications.
It’s simple to stretch the contents within the cover out or cut a few handfuls of filling if you need it to be less than four inches thick.
If you need it to be thicker, it’s easy to fluff it up, or you may call customer care, who might be willing to supply you with any extra filling.
The pillow’s four-inch natural loft, on the other hand, is mostly welcoming. I strongly recommend the Layla pillow to anybody who has failed to find the best loft fit their specific situations due to its durability.
In my experience, it was ideal for lying on my back. I was willing to fluff it out to fill in the holes while lying on my side, and stomach sleeping was accommodated by marginally flattening the pillow out without needing to cut or apply some filling.
Performance Statistics Of Layla Pillow
Heat or the Cold
Using bits of foam in a pillow makes for more ventilation and breathability than solid memory foam pillows. This works in tandem with the Kapok fibres to keep the Layla Pillow smooth while not trapping too much heat; it doesn’t sleep heavy, but it’s also not a crazy cooling pillow. This is a good choice for those who want foam but have a hard time sleeping cool.
Adaptability
There is definitely any reaction to the pillow since it is made up of 70% memory foam. It has the features of memory foam in that it is sluggish to react but retains the majority of its form over time.
Through continued usage, the pillow’s responsiveness can deteriorate; the pillow should be fluffed in the dryer on a regular basis to ensure the foam parts sufficiently stretched and ready to react to pressure from a person’s head and neck.
Longevity
A pillow with a 5-year warranty is fairly reliable; this simply ensures that the pillow can last at least five years if the sleeper takes good care of it. Because of the foam and the Kapok fiber’s composition, it’s a really long-lasting pillow.
During our study, we spot cleaned and washed the pillow and found that the cover stood up well during the cleaning phase. Keep the pillow fluffed so that the memory foam can stretch completely to have as much protection as possible.
Off-Gassing is a term that refers to a situation where you are
During our testing, we noticed some initial off-gassing from the bulk of the memory foam filling. A small amount of off-gassing from a foam pillow is natural and not to be concerned with. The odour can fade with time and ventilation; if consumers have the opportunity, we recommend unpacking the pillow and allowing it to ventilate outside or in a space with an open window or a fan to help minimise the off-gassing scent.a
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Layla Pillow
It’s really adaptable. To change the loft and firmness, simply extract the filling.
Sleeps in a cool setting. Memory foam with copper tends to redistribute heat away from the ears.
It lasts a long time. The antimicrobial copper used in the cover tends to reduce odour and bacteria accumulation.
High-quality and long-lasting. The Layla Pillow is made of high-quality fabrics that will last for years.
A 120-night risk-free trial is available. You have four months to try out the pillow.
Many rival pillows are more costly.
There is only one firmness standard for rent (although the pillow is adjustable).
There is no way to clean the filling (this is true of most pillow fillings, however).
The pillow flattened out quickly, according to some critics.
It’s a pain to adjust the pillow filling amount, and there’s no extra filling bag included.
Layla vs. Casper Pillow
The Layla Pillow and the Casper Pillow have two items in common: they’re both fluffy and customizable! Layla’s cover is made of 66 percent polyester, 30 percent viscose, and 4 percent poly/lycra spun with CuTEC Yarn (copper-infused performance fibre), whereas Casper’s pillow is made of 100 percent pure Supima long-staple cotton, making it a more traditional “hotel bed” feel.
Layla’s heart is made up of 70% shredded memory foam and 30% Kapok fibres, which can be inserted or extracted by a zipper on the side of the pillow. Casper’s pillow has an Inner Pillow and an Outer Pillow, all of which are wrapped in cotton and packed with polyester microfibers. For the most loft and firmness, sleepers may choose any pillow or a combination of them.
Both of these pillows would fit with most sleepers due to their adjustable natures. The Layla Pillow’s extra firmness from the memory foam takes it over the top for side sleepers, although the Casper Pillow’s lighter texture is a perfect fit for stomach sleepers.

Conclusion
Overall, the Layla Pillow is a fantastic pillow. It fits a wide range of sleeping types and tastes, but stomach sleepers would need to eliminate a lot of filling to get a good fit. It is an excellent option for back and side sleepers.
Compared to other pillow brands, the Layla has a few distinct advantages. The usage of kapok, an Indonesian natural plant fibre, increases the pillow’s comfort while also lowering the pillow’s environmental effects. Similarly, unlike other memory foam pillows, the use of copper (a substance seldom used in pillows) makes for much greater temperature control. It also has antimicrobial effects, which helps to keep the pillow fresh.
I hope this material was useful, but if you’re still not convinced, keep in mind that you get a 120-night sleep study, which allows you a year to see if it’s right for you. If this is not the case, you can get a complete refund. A five-year prorated warranty is also included.
You should predict several years of good sleep if you invest in the correct mattress. It’s only natural that you’d be able to put the same amount of money into your head and neck comfort. The Layla pillow has many of the essential features that most people need to get the most out of their sleep.
